Art can be made from anything. The key is that you just have to look for it, the most interesting things are usually hidden. I like to catch things as they are naturally, but at the same time I like when art is posed and modern. Not only do I get inspiration from everything around me, but I am continuously looking at magazines. Magazines are constantly coming out with a new and modern take on how to display a product. This helps to give me ideas on how I can make my photograph or project interesting and something that no one has ever done before. I also like to do a lot of collage work, so I often use magazine clippings in my artwork. And another way I get inspiration in particular is from movie posters and CD covers. They are all so unique. They make me think outside my boundaries and make me want to do something crazy.
Inspiration can come from anywhere, you just have to be creative.

I LOVE looking at album art work. My most favorite that I've seen recently is Green Day's 21st Century Breakdown album art work. I love it because it seems very Banksy-esque. I also want to start doing some collage work. After doing the collage for our inspiration in our sketchbook, I'm like itching to do a collage for one of my concentration pieces soon.
ReplyDeleteAlbum art work has inspired me as well as the music that album contains. It shows what inspires us as well as what we can do to create something we can call our own, and show what we can do.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I don't think the walking photoshop thing is weird, I sorta do it too, especially with people. I come try to come up with good portrait ideas for them, and ways to edit and perfect it.
ReplyDeleteSecond, I can definitely tell that you get inspired by magazines/posters/cds through some of your work that I've seen. You really have a talent in design, and I'm not sure what you are planning on majoring in, but I think that you could make a great graphic designer or photographer.
